Making Better Food Choices
Read Lables! Don't only look at calories, fat grams and carbs. Stay away from foods that have high count of sugar grams as well as sodium.
Apples: Good source of vitamin C and pectin.
Almonds: They are packed with fiber, magnesium, iron, calcium and vitamin E. Keep in mind most nuts are a good source of fiber.
Broccoli: Contains vitamin C, K and A, manganese, potassium, calcium, and it is a good source of fiber and folate.
Blueberries: Not only for the antioxidants, but some experts recommend this fruit to help improve short term memory and other age related issues.
Salmon: Wild is better. A super source of omega-3 fatty acids. Protein and cholesterol lowering benefits.
Sweet Potatoes: High in beta-carotene. They also provide vitamins B-6, C and potassium.
